So what’s the deal here?

My name is Steve and I made DIYBand because it’s cheaper to run an entire web site maker for all indie musicians than it is to pay Squarespace to host all my bands’ web sites.

DIYBand is rough and simple compared to its paid competitors, but maybe it’s worth dealing with that rather than paying $1000/year if you have five projects.

What’s the catch?

DIYBand is built by one guy named Steve, and not an army of software engineers and designers working for a VC-backed tech company. So feature development is slow, and there are no super-polished built-in themes.

The page editor is extremely bare-bones because I work on it in my spare time.

That sounds kinda jank, I’d rather pay a tech company to host my web site
